Daily Om ~ Creative Cuts

morphed liliesCutting out what isn’t working in your life is a bold first step to creating the life that does work for you. Our lives can be compared to an ongoing movie script over which we have complete creative control. Within us lies the power to examine what works or isn’t working in our lives and make “edits” to our life’s script, accordingly. Choosing to actively edit your life can be incredibly empowering. As you evolve, you have the choice to accept the script you’ve written thus far or edit it so you can create a life that fulfills you. You can cut out from your life’s script what is no longer working for you. Acknowledging that you are responsible for the experience you create gives you the ability to create the life you’ve always longed for.

Granted, editing your real life isn’t always as easy as erasing a line of text. If you’ve carried emotional baggage or held on to an unhealthy relationship for a long time, these may be difficult to edit out. But when you do cut out what isn’t working from your life, you’ll feel lighter and more alive. Editing out activities that you find stressful, disassociating yourself from people that drain your energy, and letting go of your emotional baggage are all beneficial cuts you can make. In the empty spaces that are left behind, you can add in anything you like. Just as you have the power to edit out negative situations or beliefs that you no longer wish to have as part of your life, you can now include the kinds of positive experiences, people, and beliefs that you would like to fill your life with. The manifestation of these thoughts and images as realities in your life will inevitably follow. As you make changes to your life, you can also add in the bits where you choose mo! re intimate, healthier relationships, seek out adventure over tedium, and are no longer negatively impacted by old experiences.

To begin editing your life, simply think about your positive and negative experiences. When you determine what parts of your life are no longer serving you, make the commitment to remove them – though, it is important to remember that there is no proper timing or way to do this, and patience and compassion for yourself are always important during this process. Then, ask yourself what has brought you profound bliss and consider how you can make those experiences and beliefs part of your life now. With a little editing, you’ll be able to clear out what is no longer serving you and make room in your life for more happiness, love, and wisdom.

Daily Om ~ Leaving a Positive Footprint

We can bless each space we enter leaving a sweet energetic footprint behind. Physical space acts like a sponge, absorbing the radiance of all who pass through it. And, more likely than not, the spaces we move through each day have seen many people come and go. We have no way of knowing whether the energy footprints left behind by those who preceded us will invigorate us or drain us. Yet we can control the energy footprint we leave behind for others. In blessing each space we enter, we orchestrate a subtle energy shift that affects not only our own experiences in that space but also the experiences of the individuals who will enter the space after us. While we may never see the effects our blessing has had, we can take comfort in the fact that we have provided grace for those that follow after us.   When you bless a room or an entire building, you leave a powerful message of love and light for all those who will come after you. Your blessings thus have myriad effects on the environments through which you pass. Old, stagnant energy is cleared, creating a vacuum into which fresh and invigorating energy can freely flow. The space is thus rendered harmonious and nourishing, and it becomes a hub from which positive feelings are transmitted. Intent is the key component of the blessings you leave in your physical wake. If your intent involves using your own consciousness as a tool for selflessly spreading grace, your blessings will never go awry. Whether you feel more comfortable performing a solo blessing or prefer to call upon your spirit guides for assistance, visualize each space you enter becoming free of toxins, chaos, and negativity as you speak your blessing. Then imagine the resultant emptiness being replaced by pure, healing white light and loving energy. Even a quick mindful thought of love can bless a space.

This type of blessing is cumulative and will grow each time you bestow it. Try blessing every home, business, and office you visit for an entire week and observing the effects of your goodwill. Your affirmative energy footprint will help brighten your day as you contemplate your blessing’s future impact on your siblings in humanity and your environment.

Daily Om ~ Spreading Your Light

We have the potential to affect others through all of our actions during our day whether we are aware of it or not.

As the pace and fullness of modern life serve to isolate us from one another, the contact we do share becomes vastly more significant. We unconsciously absorb each other’s energy, adopting the temperament of those with whom we share close quarters, and find ourselves changed after the briefest encounters. Everything we do or say has the potential to affect not only the individuals we live, work, and play with but also those we’ve just met. Though we may never know the impact we have had or the scope of our influence, accepting and understanding that our attitudes and choices will affect others can help us remember to conduct ourselves with grace at all times. When we seek always to be friendly, helpful, and responsive, we effortlessly create an atmosphere around ourselves that is both uplifting and inspiring.

Most people rarely give thought to the effect they have had or will have on others. When we take a few moments to contemplate how our individual modes of being affect the people we spend time with each day, we come one step closer to seeing ourselves through the eyes of others. By asking ourselves whether those we encounter walk away feeling appreciated, respected, and liked, we can heighten our awareness of the effect we ultimately have. Something as simple as a smile given freely can temporarily brighten a person’s entire world. Our value-driven conduct may inspire others to consider whether their own lives are reflective of their values. A word of advice can help others see life in an entirely new fashion. And small gestures of kindness can even prove to those embittered by the world that goodness still exists. By simply being ourselves, we influence other’s lives in both subtle and life-altering ways.

To ensure that the effect we have is positive, we must strive to stay true to ourselves while realizing that it is the demeanor we project and not the quality of our wondrous inner landscapes that people see. Thus, as we interact with others, how we behave can be as important as who we are. If we project our passion for life, our warmth, and our tolerance in our facial features, voice, and choice of words, every person who enters our circle of influence will leave our presence feeling at peace with themselves and with us. You never know whose life you are affecting, big or small. Try to remember this as you go out into the world each day.

Daily Card: Island of Invisible Riders

Tuesday’s card is the Island of Invisible Riders, sort of resounds with me today. I just love synchronicity! Here’s what Caitlin has to say about this card:

Maelduin’s men hear the contentious shouting of invisible riders, all boasting that their horse is the best. In a world of conflicting opinions it is often difficult to find the right motivation, but the fruits of unrealised ideas may never ripen without true purpose.

The Challenge.

Are you making a mountain out of a mole hill, or are you afraid to let your ideas grow and manifest? Believe in yourself and do not be swayed by the opinions of others.

There are many contentious voices nowadays aren’t there so it’s not surprising that many people just don’t know which way to turn. Those who shout the loudest often drown out those who have quieter voices. We see a bully mentality in many walks of life. I’ve seen a pattern in my life that I’m only just changing now in my later years. I did not believe in myself enough and listen too much to the opinions of others, many of whom were mis-informed themselves. As a result my dreams and ideas never came to fruition because I was just too darn scared to implement them. Other people’s opinions swayed me and very often I would fall silent and feel inadequate or just plain stupid. Ok, some of my dreams and ideas might have been a bit far-fetched but my point is that by listening too much to others and comparing myself to others I ended up doing nothing and what little self-esteem I had plummeted to nothing.

When other people off-handedly ignore your ideas and dreams, or actually try to put them down, they might have a vested interest in doing so. Perhaps they are fearful of you realising your dreams, perhaps they are unsure as to where it will leave them, or maybe they’re just plain jealous. There could be all kinds of reasons but mostly their reasons are self-serving. What I mean is they serve themselves and not you! Now, if your anything like me, it can be very hard to believe in yourself and your capabilities. I’ve had years of struggle to actually get to a point where I can actually believe in myself. How did I do this?

Well, first off you have to begin to be brutal. I found I had to cut certain people out of my life – those who consistently pulled me down or who were detrimental to my own sense of being. Of course this is hard to do when it comes to family members who might be like this as you have emotional ties with them. However, you have to try to cultivate a thicker skin. In some ways you have to become a little selfish, not in a bad way but in a positive way – after all this is YOUR life not theirs! It doesn’t mean you have to cut family members off but you must set firm boundaries. Healthy boundaries are good and are needed, even in families and close relationships.  All this takes time and practise but it is achievable. It does take a certain amount of courage but if you begin to surround yourself with people who do encourage you as an individual and whom you can trust then it becomes easier. Find people who have similar ideas to you, that way you can build up a support network of like-minded people who won’t pull you down.

The main thing is to move away from contention and negativity and move towards up-lifting and positivity. now, I’ve been told that thinking positively is just unrealistic and that the world is not a positive place. Well, duh! I KNOW that life isn’t positive ALL the time but many of the people who tell me this live in a world that is grey! I don’t want to live in mediocre! They obviously haven’t heard of the Law of Attraction – the law that posits that if you put negative energy out there you attract it back, and vice versa of course. If you don’t believe me try this little experiment. For a couple of weeks try to see the glass half full instead of half empty. I’m not promising that you’ll be ecstatically happy but I bet you’ll see a shift in how you see things and better energy will start to appear in your life. I know this works because I’ve done it and seen it for myself. This does wonders for your self-esteem and then you can start to implement those ideas and dreams. It doesn’t matter if they don’t work out the way you wanted. The point is you will be creating your life and be experiencing it…it’s all gravy baby!

Daily Om ~ Undistracted Energy

The longer we are able to hold a positive thought, the stronger that energy around us becomes.

If we make no effort at all, our thoughts usually scatter in a vast array of directions. They start and stop and move in surprising ways from one second to the next. If we try to follow our thoughts without controlling them, we will be amazed at how truly inconsistent they are. Yet, if we apply our minds to a specific task, especially one that interests us, they gather together and allow us to focus our attention, creating great power and energy. This is what is known as pure thought, because it is undistracted.

The law of attraction—like attracts like—influences all energy, including our thoughts, and this is what makes pure thought so potent. Our undistracted thoughts create a powerful magnet that draws similar energy into our vibrational field. As a result, the longer we are able to hold positive thoughts in our minds, the more powerful the positive energy around us becomes. We don’t need to focus on action and controlling so much when we are surrounded by energy that draws what we want toward us. We can simply respond to the opportunities that naturally come our way. When this is the essence of our experience, we can go with the flow, knowing that we will be okay.

If pure thought is a body, it is our emotions that supply the heart that can really bring it to life. Our thoughts and feelings exist in relation to one another, and they form a feedback loop through which they communicate and empower each other. When we hold a thought in our mind without being distracted, we have achieved pure thought. When we have a positive emotional response to that thought, we enable it to dance and move and breathe itself into existence.

The Daily Card: The Enchanted Map ~ Field of Dreams

Hey! Wasn’t this the name of another film? I suspect so but this is today’s card from The Enchanted Map oracle ~ Field of Dreams ~ and what a very pretty and inspiring card it is. We should all cultivate our field of dreams, and know that’s where magick happens. Especially with Ostara/Easter practically on our doorsteps. Those easter eggs will hatch into beautiful dreams that through the coming year will grow into our manifested goals. So, what does the book say about this card?

Your thoughts, feelings and beliefs are always engaging the vast field of pure potential. This is the perfect time to harness the field of vast potential not yet realised in your life. Great abundance is yours if you’re willing to do the work alongside the Gentle Gardener. Be clear about your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Concentrate on your best life regardless of the temporary outer conditions imposed upon you by the greater world, which has its own story to tell. You have a basket full of seeds that are quite powerful, for your talents are divinely inspired and will indeed lead to a great harvest to be shared with others. You will reap what you have sown. Dream big, dream beautiful, take action, and tend to the garden of your life…and experience the extraordinary.

We live in seemingly uncertain times don’t we, so much financial and material uncertainty, job losses, rises in the cost of living, unrest and wars in various countries around the world, terrorism, hunger and fatigue, not to mention the earthquakes and tsunamis that cause havoc in some countries. In fact you only have to turn on the news to see all the negative impact this world is taking. It’s no wonder many people live with constant lack of confidence, stress, anxiety and fear. This all impacts on humans with more cases of depression, mental instability, physical illness etc. We are bombarded with negative energy all the time. So it’s not surprising that many people have difficulty with positivity. They either won’t entertain the thought or distain it as ‘not being real’, fluffy bunny kind of stuff.

Well, the truth is ‘All that is’ is energy and we have a choice whether we sow our seeds in negative soil or soil that is positive. It is true we reap what we sow and like attracts like. If we constantly think negatively we will become negative people with little to give ourselves or others. However, if we try to think positively and keep our minds and thoughts on positive things, we will have much to give ourselves and share with others and we WILL make a difference to this negative world. That doesn’t mean we have to ignore what is going on in the world, or become blind to it but it does mean we can choose not to let it affect us adversely. The bottom line is we ALWAYS have a choice.

I used to find it extremely hard to think positively or focus on the positive things in my life. To be honest for a long time I drifted in an ocean of dull grey and refused to look for the sunshine. I liked being negative and practically wallowed in it if truth be told. However, gradually I realised that because I was in a negative mindset I was actually attracting more negative, sad, depressed energy to me and it was a vicious cycle. Slowly, and with great effort I began to let the positive energy into my life – yes it did take great effort by the way but I’m so glad I did. That’s not to say I’m not affected by what’s going on in the world because I am but I choose to not allow myself to drown in it.

One very good way to combat the negativeness of the outer world is to keep a journal of positivity. It’s so easy to forget or discard those positive moments as unreal or not of any consequence but the truth is they are very important. They help me to combat the constant fear and stress of everyday life. When it all gets a bit too much I turn to my journal and remind myself of all the good things that are happening to me in my life, and the good things that are happening out there in the world, that so often go unnoticed.

The journal can be a simple book or even, if you’re feeling up to it, a blog online where you can share your positivity with others. And you never know who reads it – you might just make someone’s day! The main thing is to make sure the journal is bright and colourful. In mine I write every single little thing I do or see that brings me joy and happiness – a sunny day, a plant I connect with, how my cats are playing, something positive I do no matter how seemingly small or inconsequential, some news report that brings a smile to my face…anything at all as long as it’s uplifting. By doing this regularly you realise that your life is full of good things even though the world around you seems to be falling to pieces. The point of all this is to remind yourself of the good, the wonderful things that are important to you, the joy and happiness that is still to be found in your life no matter what your circumstances. The more you focus on the good things the more you attract positive energy into your life.
