The Daily Card: The Enchanted Map ~ Sacred Pool

What a gorgeous card Sacred Pool is…so restful and tranquil, reminds me of Tennyson’s poem The Lady of Shallot. Here’s what the book says:

The world is a reflection of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Embody the love you wish to see in the world. When you look into a mirror, do you like what you see? The Sacred Pool card asks that you focus on self-love and self-esteem. We are all works in progress, so a detached self-examination made with rigorous honesty is called for now. Reflect by the Sacred Pool and be at peace with yourself. Can you see how far you’ve come and how magical your life is? Do you notice the spark of the Divine shining through your eyes? When you’re conscious that you’re the embodiment of Spirit, it becomes easier to respect yourself and act in good conscience…then you will reap the greatest rewards. Your unique service to the world is not only needed but celebrated. See the love within you, and know that if you cast it upon the waters, it will return to you tenfold. Be at peace, for you are beautiful and loved. Act with surety and confidence and success shall be yours.

I bet it’s difficult for some of you to even believe what the cards is telling us isn’t it. It’s sometimes hard for me too. Many people lack self-love and self-confidence because of trauma in their earlier years. Through emotional, physical or sexual abuse or neglect many of us never learnt about self-love and self-confidence, instead we learnt twisted versions of these that have played out in our adult years to our detriment.

However the card is telling us in essence to notice and remember just how far we’ve come, how enabled we actually are! This means moving out of ‘victimhood’ and coming to a place of empowerment. this is not magickal thinking…it it real! However, realising this takes hard work and effort. It can be a difficult journey to realise that even though we all have our ‘shadow’ sides, we are also beautiful beings with an innate sense of love and confidence inside us. We have to be honest and acknowledge our woundedness and also the part we all play in that but the flip side is that we also have to acknowledge our beautiful and magickal sides too.

So how do we acknowledge the beauty within us? By doing what the card says and being at peace, which means letting go! Not easy either but definitely achievable. It’s a matter of perspective and choice. We can all choose to either stay victims to our past or move through that into the light. But in order to move through requires action on our part. No one else is going to do it for us and there is no magical wand or magic pill to take. The job requires us to begin to look at our lives more objectively. It doesn’t change the past but it can and does change our future. It means acknowledging every single little thing that is positive in our lives – no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. It might sound silly at first but the more you do this the easier it becomes and the more believable it becomes. Of course life is not all shiny and wonderful and to look at life through rose-tinted glasses is just pure fantasy. But if we choose to acknowledge the good, the beauty, the magic in our lives then our stance begins to shift.

Today, in a diary or journal, or even just on a piece of paper, note down the good, the beautiful in your life, in the things you do, in everything. Try to make this a habit, and when you feel that life just sucks big time, or you just suck big time refer to these ‘Beauty Notes’ to remind yourself just how wonderful you really are!
